Hot Tub Electrical Installations

Every hot tub is different — we assess your model, layout, and power requirements to deliver a safe and seamless install:

• Site visit and electrical load assessment
   
• Dedicated circuit installation to hot tub location (typically 40A–60A)
   
• ESA-compliant GFCI disconnect mounted within visible range of the tub
   
• Underground or surface conduit runs, as needed (PVC or Teck)
   
• Bonding of metal components (e.g., rebar, patio railings, equipment)
   
• Connection of all wiring to spa panel
   
• Full system testing to ensure safe startup
   
• ESA permit and inspection coordination
   

We work with all major brands (Jacuzzi, Bullfrog, Sundance, Hydropool, etc.) and follow strict safety standards for water-adjacent power systems.

 Most hot tub installs are completed in one day. We’ll work with your delivery schedule and landscaper to coordinate trenching, access, and reconnection as needed.

How much power does a typical hot tub require?
Most residential hot tubs require a dedicated 240V circuit ranging from 40 to 60 amps, depending on the model. We’ll confirm the exact requirements during our assessment and ensure your system is sized correctly.

Do I need GFCI protection?
Yes — Ontario Electrical Code requires all hot tubs to have GFCI protection. We supply and install the GFCI breaker and outdoor disconnect as part of every install. This ensures maximum safety and full code compliance.

What is “disconnecting means” and do I need it?
Yes — code requires a clearly visible means of disconnect within sight of the spa. 

Do I need to be home for the install?
Yes, we’ll need access to your main panel and the hot tub location. A walkthrough at the end of the install helps us show you how to operate the system safely.

Is an inspection required?
Yes — all hot tub installs must be inspected by the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA). We take care of the permit, scheduling, and final approval.
